Prolonged extreme hot weather can have affects on health and certain infrastructure. Public Health England provides a heat watch service, according to forecasts provided by the Met Office.

• Making plans to deal with the potential number of deaths.
• Making sure individual organisations have their own business continuity plans in place to cope in times of staff shortage.
