Welcome to the emergency website for North Yorkshire. This site will provide you with information on how to prepare for an emergency, as well as tell you about any emergencies that are happening and help you to recover from them.

The purpose of the North Yorkshire Local Resilience Forum (NYLRF) is to prepare and plan for any emergencies whether big or small. We respond to these emergencies as quickly and efficiently as possible, so that they have as little negative impact on the people of North Yorkshire as possible.

The NYLRF has the responsibility of developing plans for an effective response to a major emergency. This means that we will work closely with emergency services, the County Council, District Councils, National Health Service, plus other agencies who can help to prepare and respond to any event.

Immediate information in the event of any emergency will be provided by the local media and organisations directly involved - we will direct you to them.

Our aim is to work together to protect your community and ensure North Yorkshire is prepared to deal with any emergency.
